Overview

1Trove is a jewelry marketplace platform designed to bring together premium jewelry designers and customers in one space. The focus was to create a visually elegant, easy-to-navigate platform where users could explore collections, search by categories, and connect directly with designers. My role was enhancing the UI to ensure a luxury shopping feel while maintaining usability for everyday buyers.

The Challenge

The project aimed to solve several problems in the jewelry shopping space:

  • Fragmented experiences: Customers had to rely on multiple sources to find premium designers.

  • Complex navigation: Traditional e-commerce jewelry websites often overwhelmed users.

  • Trust & connection: Bridging the gap between independent jewelry designers and buyers.

  • Need for personalization: Shoppers wanted to browse by categories, stories, and curated collections.

Research & Insights

Through competitive analysis and testing, we found:

  • Users preferred visual-first browsing, with large imagery and quick filters.

  • Customers wanted search flexibility – products, categories, and designers in one unified search bar.

  • Personalization was critical: buyers liked features such as Wishlist and Folders for organizing favorites.

  • Designers needed storytelling space to share their brand ethos and product stories.

Design Solution

We designed a luxury yet accessible platform with:

  • Unified Search: Allowed users to find products, categories, or designers in one place.

  • Curated Stories & Categories: Engaging content pages like For Him, For Her, and Our Story to enhance brand trust.

  • Product Filtering: Multi-layer filters (price, material, vendor, category) to narrow results without breaking flow.

  • Wishlist & Folders: A personalized way to save and revisit jewelry pieces.

  • Seamless Onboarding: Simple login/signup, including social logins for quicker access.

The Result

  • A more intuitive browsing flow that encouraged longer user engagement.

  • Elevated UI that communicated exclusivity and luxury in line with the jewelry industry.

  • Improved conversion potential with better product filtering and wishlist features.

  • Provided a strong designer showcase, creating a bridge between jewelry creators and buyers.
